OITHONIA CATEGORY – FLOWERS FULL OF FEELING.

Standard

The rose is the very heart of the ROCKLEY Awards, and fills a special place in the exhibition. It could be said to be reflecting the whole sentiment of the flower bed of fotos shown each year. So, it is fitting that the “OITHONIA’ is traditionally the last collection of finalists to be announced. Good luck to all. One last chance for you to make a of  POST Of PRAISE and wish all the KWC good luck before the CHOICES are announced.

TAKEN BY; Stacey Finck. This photo took out the Overall Brst for last year’s ‘PRECIOUS PETALS” project, and as result was chosen to be used as the tribute image for the FF KWC memorial to the Kids Of Bourke street. An image full of sentiment.

TAKEN BY; Misha Ravipati. This image branches out with  creative composition with the actual flower being strategically placed to one side. A good look.

Taken BY; Rose B. Seen in a previous category, this image lines up for a second challenge.  An image not to be overlooked, and will appeal to many people for it’s “finished treatment”.

TAKEN BY; Nadia K. The yellow rose is filled with the emotion of friendship, and is commonly used to extend the emotion between friends. Here the rose colour is virtually reflected in the wall. Well found!

TAKEN BY; Victoria B. Growing in  a garden bed in a setting all of it’s own, the rose takes the eye as it would have done in the Rockley garden a long time ago.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
