WELCOME TO 2017 and the first of the FRIDAY ON YOUR MIND for the year. There is a lot on the mind of FOCUS FORCE for the Kids With Cameras both the old-timers and the newcomers to get into in the coming year. First of all there is AUSTRALIA DAY being celebrated next Thursday January 26th. Once again FOCUS FORCE inspires to capture their impression of the day no matter where they are with a special CAMERA CHALLENGE.

SUMMER PROJECT;  BUCKET WISH LIST.

The hot days of summer are all about fun in the sun. On those days in January the country celebrates AUSTRALIA DAY, Over the last 3 years, FOCUS FORCE has inspired the Kids With Cameras to mark the day with a CAMERA CHALLENGE that starts off the new year and the project schedule. The end result being the best SUPER SHOT featuring in the FOCUS FORCE annual calendar, now identified as the SUPER SHOT SHOWCASE. 2018 will be no different the chosen SUPER SHOT gracing the first page for January.WHY THE BUCKET? There is an old saying the bucket wish list being the thing you most want to do in life/ So this is a real CAMERA CHALLENGE isn’t it? The challenge is to incorporate the three components into your image; the bucket, the flag, and something that indicates what you like to see or do in life. You can only submit 2 images, and they cannot be altered in any way on a computer. They cannot be cropped. What the camera sees, is what the CHOICE MAKERS must see.

Here’s the bonus, you have until the end of February to complete the task, and until March 10th to submit your final CHOICE.

SUBMISSION; 100 REWARD POINTS for each.

THE CHOICES FOR THE CATEGORIES & THE OVERALL BEST WILL BE PUBLISHED WED. JAN 25.

The category CHOICES will be included in the 2017 ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO AWARDS.

THE REWARD POINTS SOARED FOR THE END OF YEAR – AND  WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON AUSTRALIA DAY – TOGETHER WITH THE RECIPENT OF THE JAS RECOGNITION FOR 2017.

An other year has passed, and with it comes the announcement of the JAS RECIPIENT for 2017. It is an honor that may not be seen as highly significant. But, FOCUS FORCE believes that may be an over-rated opinion. Now, in it’s fourth year it has been seen to change hands as many times, and with each a new standard gained. But, it also does not overshadow the work and commitment of the rest of the Kids With Cameras who in 2016 put in an outstanding amount of work. The standard also being exceptional. As for the REWARD POINTS the numbers gained were incredible; them their-selves showing just how hard the KWC have worked.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
