THE TREES are so important for us and the survival of our lovely planet. That’s why FOCUS FORCE chose to give the Kids With Camera the WINTER CAMERA CHALLENGE in search of their intrepretations of the theme. Here are the first submissions from Misha and Victoria B. Lets start the ball rolling with a POST Of PRAISE for these KWC and the other works you will see in weeks to come.

ff16-wtcc-mr1. Here Misha has found an image that is bright and cheery on a winters day with the trees looking to form a guard of honour for the young photographer. The brightness of the pic being overshadowed with the wooden mammoths casting their shadows, and trying to avoid the rays of warmth. If the image gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling; give it a POST Of PRAISE

xxff16-wtcc-vb3.. Victoria B’s first shows the sparseness of the wetlands that are close to her  school. The image conjures up ideas of what the English moors might look like in an early morning. A very cool feel on a chilly winter’s morning. Do you think a POST Of PRAISE?

xxff16-wtcc-mr2. A closer look at a tree lined path with what looks to be more gum trees. The image looks to be looking towards light as it seems trying to make it’s way through the leaves and branches on the right top corner. This could have added or detracted from the shot. What do you think? Go make her day with a POST Of PRAISE

ff16-wtcc-vb1.This solitary tree stands alone and forlorn, it’s distinguishing features hidden by the unforgiving mist. it has a sad story to tell, as it looks to be rejected by the others that surround it. I wonder, does it have a story to tell that the camera cannot tell. Don’t leave the tree sad, and Victoria too, give it a POST Of PRAISE

HOW TO SEND A POST Of PRAISE. Choose the SUPER SHOT submission you like most. Go to bottom here, and click on “leave a comment”  nominating the image number (shown in purple text) and FF Kids With Cameras name in the post. Then add a few words of praise to encourage them. When that’s completed click on “post” in the bottom right corner. It’s that easy.

You can make a POST Of PRAISE by 6.00 pm Tuesday. Only ONE person per post, and multiples will not be accepted.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.

  1. Well done Victoria, very proud of you. Can’t wait to see some more. I really like vb3 , the tree sitting in the foreground and the mist hiding the other trees in the background. X
