FOYM – BRRRRR IT’S BEEN WET & COLD!

Standard

Holidays are almost done for another term, and new batch of school days are about to begin. FOCUS FORCE has noticed that a few of the Kids With Cameras have been away, and already seen some of the results of those trips. From those, we will see a few FOTOSTORIES in the weeks to come. Also delighted to see that the first entries for the TREE CAMERA CHALLENGE have arrived, and now anxiously looking forward to seeing more. In saying that FF has been keen to see the submissions for the FFF with some stunning works coming through. Looking to seeing more throughout the coming months, and remember the increased REWARD POINTS for them over the coming months. So, in saying that make the most of the last days – before you start getting ready for the next!

FIRST GET TOGETHER OF Kids With Cameras FOR ’17 SATURDAY JULY 9 – TOMORROW!

What will be a small gathering for the KWC will take place at the East Melbourne Library in George St with an informal get together, brief chat about FOCUS FORCE, update on what’s happening for the second half of the year, and the presentation of the first booty from the SURPRIZE TREASURE CHEST. At the completion of this, a short wander down the street will find us in the Fitzroy Gardens where we will take a short stroll amongst the trees – cameras at the ready. We will start this with a coffee break in the INFO CENTRE opposite Captain Cooks cottage.

DSCN1500WHOSE IMAGES WILL FEATURE ON THE 2017 FOCUS FORCE CALENDAR? Last year was the first time FOCUS FORCE created a calendar showing off the outstanding SUPER SHOT works of the Kids With Cameras, and this year we plan to do it again. Some every time  you click the camera, and submit a SS; remember yours could feature on a page for all the world to see. Will be released in tine for Christmas giving – an ideal gift.

FOCUS FORCE REWARD POINTS ARE SOARING.

The small band of Kids With Cameras are getting into the camera action and boosting their scores on the tally board. It’s gratifying to see them take the CAMERA CHALLENGES on, and regular SUPER SHOT submissions coming through. This month, FF offered another challenge to encourage more closer study of the focusfor articles. That saw 2 of the KWC respond, and their scores climb by 100 RWP. Next week the updated scores will be published, and that will be an eye-opener.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
