A new season coming up, and with it a tantalizing collection of tasks and CAMERA CHALLENGES  for the Kids With Cameras.

The bean counters have been at work updating the ROCKLEY RESULTS for the first batch of submissions for the ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION & AWARDS in 2017. We have to say that the overall opinion is that the standard is to be applauded and the Kids With Cameras congratulated with what they have started with. The numbers in the brackets show the number of works that have been shortlisted for the status of SUPER SHOT. 15 from these will be accepted as the first for the 17 collection.  Victoria B. 1550. PENNESHAW FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras stand proudly holding their certificates and HARVEY NORMAN SURPRIZE bags with the Hon. Michael Pengilly, Councilor Peter Denholm, SEALINK’S Anne Dyson and of Regional Tourism Manager Kylie Bamfield representing KI Tourism.

In an event that was hailed as a success, the achieving FF KWC heard Commodore Christopher Rynd announce his CHOICE for the FLASH Of FRIENDSHIP along with the runners up. He was proceeded by FOCUS FORCE Phillip Williams, the Campus Head, and the state member for Finniss, the Hon. Michael Pengilly MP who did the Kids With Cameras the honour of officiating at the presentation ceremony. The students sat and listened together with teachers, family and friends and the invited guests including Councilor Peter Denholm who presented the certificate on behalf of the Mayor. The students received “surprise bags” with gifts from HARVEY NORMAN (Adelaide and QV Melboure). The achieving KWC were also handed HN FREE PRINT VOUCHERS.

Boy, hasn’t the wind be blowing chilly, and with snow already on the mountain tops, FOCUS FORCE will be suggesting a stimulating CAMERA CHALLENGE next week to get the minds ticking, and cameras clicking. And, of course it will all add to the REWARD POINTS.

A long time coming the KWC wanting to participate will be invited to participate in 4 CAMERA CHALLENGES that will see the greatest reason to pick up your camera when you see the incentive! There will be no excuse to take part if you have already submitted images for the ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION & AWARDS ’17. If not, you still can. Get ready for it!

EXTRA SPECIAL – THIS YEAR THE FESTIVAL WILL HOST THE FOCUS FORCE FLASH OF FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITION IN THE LIGHTHOUSE THEATRE. A PROUD RECOGNITION FOR THE Kids With Cameras.

An honour for the Penneshaw FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras with the festival being the first to host the FOF FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITION outside South Australia. This will be the first showing of the collection on a journey that will take it back to HARVEY NORMAN in Adelaide, returning to Melbourne, and then to Hobart to inspire the Kids With Cameras to take part in the next Flash Of Friendship there in March 2017. What a trip it’s in before, before some of it being presented to the Cunard Queen Victoria.

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings,and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes.The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
