MISHA PROVIDES A LONE ANZAC PERSPECTIVE OF THE CENTENARY.

Standard

IN THIS COLLECTION taken post ANZAC DAY (APRIL 26), Misha with family in tow trekked to the city to find these images that brought back poignant memories of the past. Here, she shows you what was POPULAR the world over in signifying the day. The Poppies Of Flanders have become significant in helping us reflect on the days and the sacrifices. Add to Misha’s joy by making a POST’s Of PRAISE. She deserves them.

Part 2.

Misha_Anzac2015-5ANZPM15-MR(2)10. A poignant moment in time is captured in this unusual sign fixed to a wall, and reminds us of the day one hundred years ago. Now, like the centenary consigned to the past. Misha_Anzac2015-14 ANZPM15-MR(2)11.  Crowds gather on a damp Melbourne day and gaze upon a field of poppies, marking the place in the world with a timely scape of the city, and the iconic Flinders St station looking over all. Well shot. Misha_Anzac2015-11ANZPM15-MR(2)12. An imaginative and creative image by Misha, who would have had to get down and dirty to capture it. The background of the shot being so grey, and desolate providing an apt background to bring out the vibrant color. Note, how the foreground flowers are out of focus, becoming clearer as the camera reaches deeper into the image – and they come into focus. Then, drop out again in the back. Misha_Anzac2015-12 ANZPM15-MR(2)13. Crafted from metal, this poppy glistens in the rain with could be tears for the fallen. Finding a story for the image provides another dimension for the viewer to take in. Misha worked hard for all of these. Misha_Anzac2015-1ANZPM15-MR(2)14. WOW – what a dramatically lit shot! An image that stops you in your tracks, and takes your breath away. This is what photography is all about, and from one so young. What else can we say? It’s up to you to make a POST Of PRAISE to lift her day. Go For It! Misha_Anzac2015-19ANZPM15-MR(2)15. Taken from the opposite direction looking to the abstract buildings of Federation Square brings the image into today, and reflecting the modern generations. Here’s something to reflect on. How do you think the diggers would react to the Melbourne and world of today?  Misha_Anzac2015-16ANZPM15-MR(2)16. Another image reflecting the modern era with the carpeted flower steps drawing our eye to the towering monster EUREKA., another unmistakable Melbourne image. Even like the bottom border of rain-soaked tiles. I imagine shouting Eureka meaning; “I have found it”!

MISHA’S PROUD ANZAC TASK – PT.1.

Standard

A DISMAL dreary day, overloaded with drizzle did not dampen the enthusiasm of young Misha who took on the task of searching for potential SUPER SHOTS to commemorate the ANZAC CENTENARY. These, the first of poignant images will be followed by a second collection of photographs that will commemorate the day. FOCUS FORCE encourages you to applaud her efforts with a well deserved POST’s Of PRAISE. She deserves them.

1915poignantANZACmoments2015

FOCUS FORCE IS PROUD TO FEATURE THIS AS THE FIRST OF TWO.

Misha_Anzac2015-42 ANZPM15-MR1. What more poignancy could an image engender than the ageless statue of Simpson and donkey. A story told so many times, and a courage that can only be imagined, will still be told with the next centenary, and all the years between. Misha_Anzac2015-49 ANZPM15-MR2.A poppy representing the fields of Flanders, and the French countryside lies surrounded by oak leaves representing Turkey, like a body of mates providing comfort and protection. A symbol of friendship created with imagination.  Misha_Anzac2015-44ANZPM15-MR3. A mother and her children provide a poignant image of the ravages and turmoil of war. What are they refugees that fled to countries like Australia, or the remnants of a family torn apart with a dad so far away, with them waiting hopefully for his return. Misha_Anzac2015-51 ANZPM15-MR4.Shining metal and bright colorful ribbons signify different awards and recognitions for military and other armed forces personnel. Representing everything from years of service to campaigns and acts of gallantry they are treasured and worn proudly by the recipients.Misha_Anzac2015-21ANZPM15-MR5. Misha spent Anzac Day commemorating the occasion with her scout group, First Casey in Melbourne’s east where the crowds would have been large in the morning ceremony but small in contrast to the major memorials. Nevertheless the spirit would have been just as high, no matter where the crowds gathered. Misha_Anzac2015-30ANZPM15-MR6.Flags hang proudly as a guard of honour to the HONOUR ROLL showing the names of the fallen and those who served on foreign shores across the world. Just like others spread over the nation in civic centres, in schools and town halls – all doing their part in reminding of the sacrifice made by the names listed. Misha_Anzac2015-39 ANZPM15-MR7. Surrounded by a gumtree backdrop, this memorial in the bushland of the Dandenongs poignantly reminds all those that visit the site of the environment the diggers fought in along the Kokoda trail. Misha_Anzac2015-50 ANZPM15-MR8. A relic from times gone by, and a source of sustenance that would have contained the staple diet of thousands of diggers for the duration of their time overseas. Oh, how they must have craved for a home cooked meal. Misha_Anzac2015-43ANZPM15-MR9. Misha “went flat out” and found this unusual profile of Melbourne’s Shrine Of Remembrance the day after the centenary celebrations. The low down shot with the grass in the foreground provides a soft balance to the monument, and brings to mind the fields of war with a  passive feel. A charming shot of the building. An image that takes you far away from the city of Melbourne which surrounds the site. HOW TO MAKE A POST Of PRAISE; Choose the 2 SUPER SHOT submissions you like most. Go to bottom here, and click on “leave a comment”  enter your CHOICES nominating the Kids With Cameras name, and the image number in the post. Then add a few words of praise to encourage her. When that’s completed click on post in the bottom right corner. It’s that easy. If you have a problem, write your entry and email to;focusonanzacs15@gmail.com NOTE; Only 2 CHOICES are allowed by each respondent. ALL POP’S registered by 5.00 pm Friday will earn Misha DOUBLE REWARD POINTS taking each to 200.

POSTCARDS TO POLLIES.

Over the many years of the FOCUS FORCE program and its processor CLICKER CLUB the task of advising politicians of our country from all spheres from Federal to local has been an on-going mission. During that time, their involvement has also been sought at functions including the presentations from schools to international missions like the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS. Those recognitions have also come from overseas at many levels including the New York Consulate  and the Portuguese to mention two.

In keeping with this tradition the KIDzPIKz ROCKLEY GREETING CARDS from the ’15 collection have been sent to The Hon Denis Napthine MP in Victoria’s south west and Dan Tehan MP in the electorate of Wannon, , a Federal pollie from Victoria. On the other coast in the west, cards of the winning Hyden students have gone The Hon Julie Bishop whose recognition is well known. The letterboxes of Mia Davies MP and Paul Brown MLC, both state members in WA will also swell with packages. To end off this round others have gone to the Kondinin councilors the shire President Allen Smoker and Cyril Smith.

This says only one thing that these Kids With Cameras, like those hundreds including those that have earned awards and recognitions, gained SUPER SHOTS and been the basis of FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS have stood in the spotlight and brought credit and accolades to themselves. The credit goes to having created and captured images to gain this acknowledgement. It is a proud stage for the FF KWC.

ROCKLEY AWARDS & THE JAS AWARD FOR 2016 ARE TAKING NEW DIRECTIONS.

There is considerable amount of thought and consideration going to both these awards for the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras. Ideas and plans that will hopefully provide more incentive for those who participate and achieve. We hope that will be inspiration for all those involved. FOCUS FORCE wants the greatest ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION by the Kids With Cameras at next years MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW.

THIS WEEK WILL SEE THE WORK OF THE SUBMISSIONS FOR ; ” ANZAC – POIGNANT MOMENTS”.

FOYM – Brrrr… Today’s the fifth day of Winter.

Standard

In the early days of winter, we set out minds on all things to keep us warm. And, for the FF KWC it means getting rugged up head to toe,and heading outdoors with gloved hands and cameras. The success of great shots that might eventually make the status of SUPER SHOT is a heartening thought that will be inspiration. There will be millions of CAMERA CHALLENGES from snow to water drops. Looking forward to seeing your interpretations of winter.

WAMA RECOGNISES ROCKLEY ACHIEVERS WITH A STORY IN THEIR NEWSLETTER.

We had the pleasure of entertaining a number of guests and celebrities to the FF KWC ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION this year, and amongst them was the Patron of WAMA, and to enlighten your understanding the acronym stands for Wildlife Art Museum of Australia based in Victoria’s Grampians. The vision of the organization is to eventually build an environmental centre encompassing galleries, educational facilities and plant indigenous shrubs and trees. Glenda Lewin       visited the exhibition and was impressed by what she saw, and equally with the Kids With Cameras she had the opportunity to meet. As a result a story was published in their on line newsletter this month which you can read on…www.wama.net.au
