A week has flown since the opening of FOCUS FORCE’S KWC ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION at this year’s Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, and now 3 days after it closed here is some of the action that took place at the stand, the people who visited and viewed the 2015 collection, and of course voted.
TWO CELBRITIES FROM SEVEN’S BETTER HOMES & GARDENS took time out to chat to the Kids With Cameras. Popular personality on the show Graham Ross visited the ROCKLEY EXHIBITION and talked with the girls about their photos. Here, Madeleine seems ready to cross her fingers in hope of a good review. .Lauren became a super sleuth and tracked down Joanna Griggs and got the chance for a memorable pic. Thanks to both of them for spending a minute or two with the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras.
Laurie, the mother of former FOCUS FORCE KWC runner up in the 2004 ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO AWARDS, Veronica Ferrie is all smiles as she looks and chats with another visitor to this years exhibition stand. It was surprising as the father of the winner of 2004 had visited the stand the day before. Bruce Cutler sent an email that night congratulating the FOCUS FORCE on another successful FF KWC ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION at the Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show. It was a thrill to catch up with both and renew old acquantices. Both of the KWC are now 23, Will, Bruce’s son having only had his birthday recently.
Young Misha tries her best to entice another potential Kids With Cameras to become part of the FOCUS FORCE, showing and explaining her Category winning image of the snail. Misha spent time on the exhibition stand on Saturday afternoon with her Dad talking with other children and selling her KIDZpikZ.
Visitors from the West discuss the pros and cons of each image as they find that being a judge is not as easy as it looks when choosing images in the POP PIKz POLL. The challenge is to select the 2 images that you would like to see printed on a FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras ROCKLEY KIDzPIKz greeting card.
Melbourne friends took a break from the children for the day. Jandra and Leonie stopped by the ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION and caught up with JAS recipient for 2015 Madeleine Puli and her mum Cheryl. It was a pleasant meeting and all of them were interested to know the background of the award. All the way from Queensland’s North Gympie these well travelled couple browsed over the MELBOURNE – CITY OF CONTRASTS book and admired the SUPER SHOT works of the 4 intrepid FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras who had their works included. They were particularly impressed by the image of the squirrel perched on top of a headstone in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington DC. The discussion focused what a lucky shot it was as the little characters generally know the moment to move – just as the shutter clicks.
OOOH, I like that seems to be hanging on the lips of these two young admirers of the KWC SUPER SHOTS that adorned the display wall of the 2oth Anniversary Melbourne International Flower & Garden show. FOCUS FORCE estimates that it has been part of most of them with at least 13 appearances, and heading for many more.
Mani and TWIGZ Managing Director Chris Hajos have an in depth conversation while little Misha stands by. It had been a busy time for all concerned and it was great to catch up with Chris who had just presented the astute SUPER SHOOTER with a pack of his gardening tools to get her enthused in the outdoors and planting flowers to photograph.
Another supporter of the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras, Mike of WHIRLY WINDMILLS gets behind the display and the Kids With Cameras by providing a small bundle of windmills to be included in a special foto project for the FOCUS FORCE. Keep an eye for them as submissions blow in, and be on the lookout for the details of an exciting nation wide foto project that will create great opportunities. We’ll let you know. It will be a great camera challenge!
We had to include our Very Important Photographer who visited the stand on opening day and admired not only the ROCKLEY EXHIBITION, but also the “MELBOURNE – CITY OF CONTRASTS” book. The National Geographic photographer was duly impressed with the standard of work by the 4 KWC work.
Portland resident stops to think about the image of local girl from her home town Stacey Finck whose image of the IRIS was equal first in the FLEUR AWARD for this year.
MINUTEMAN’S Clint, and wife Angela take a little longer to ponder over their CHOICES in the POP PIKz POLL
Faces of Tesselaar’s were found by Madeleine during the event, and are shown here. On the left is Paul Tesselaar and to the right, we see Promotions Manager and social media guru Wendy. Tesselaar’s provided a bunch of bulbs for the KWC who took part in the foto project at the farm in September.
After all their hard work it is only fitting that we should close this article with the FACES OF THE ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION for 2015. Misha, Lauren and Madeleine (the official ambassador for FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras 2015) were everywhere doing time on the stand, selling their KIDzPIKz cards and talking to visitors. In between they found time for foto tours with Pete Marshall and Phillip. We know we know that we will see more of this trio in 15, and their SUPER SHOTS appearing regularly on focusfor. That’s a promise, along with all the others who take up the camera challenges.
THANK YOU FOR VISITING THE ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITIION.
