Tesselaar’s tulip festival provided a blank canvas for these FF Kids With Cameras to create their own pictures for the CAMERA CHALLENGE in the early days of Spring. With a palette of colour to fire the imaginatiuon the happy band went about their task. Tesselaar’s photographer Neil had his job cut out to make the selections. Thanks to him, and all those who made POSTS of PRAISE this has been another grand event for the KWC. The winner of the BUNDLE OF BULBS from Tesselaar’s will be announced in next FRIDAY ON YOUR MIND.

TTULIPF14-MP2THE FLEUR AWARD has been  a long standing recognition in the FF KWC ROCKLEY AWARDS and this image by Madeleiene will take it’s place amongst the contenders in 15. This will go a long way towards taking out the gong, and we all wish her luck.TTULIPF14-TICMP4 THE VISTA AWARD goes to Madeleine and its not hard to see with the beautiful red tulip being silhouetted in the glowing sunlight. Set against the Dandenong hills with a clear blue sky as a backdrop, this image commands your attention.

THE PROP SHOT showed innovation with Lauren taking the time and thought to add a tulip to the fairies toe. This too her beyond just creating another shot to one that incorporated the tulip theme into the concept. TTULIPF14-RSNL3jpgTHE SINGLE FLOWER trophy award goes to Neave who found the subtle yellow of this tulip to alluring to ignore. From the many flowers on show, she chose this wisely to catch the judges eye, and no doubt yours too.

MORE YELLOW took the eye for the NiCe AWARD. Introduced for next years ROCKLEY AWARDS, Misha used her size to get down low and dirty to get the ants view of the tulips making them look more like a forest. This young girl will be glowing just like the flowers.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
