ANOTHER WEEK, and more to talk about with whats happening in the world of the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras. Positive comments about FYOM have been made, and I hope that other readers find it interesting and inspiring. Essentially its all about the KWC, and letting family and friends know what is happening. To the KWC themselves, we know that it’s an exciting and busy time of year, so those of you who take the plunge, and get into the action – have foto fun!
BY THE WAY – SOME BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS NEXT WEEK?????????
Were not sure yet, but some BIG THINGS are being sought to provide recognition for the participants of one our first foto projects of the year. If it comes off, we’ll tell you next week. The project MS EUROPA – TAKE A BOW for the FLASH OF FRIENDSHIP will ride on the crest of a wave of euphoria for the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras of Portland.
FRIENDS WITH CAMERAS.
A day out in the sun on Tuesday found myself watching a group walking the streets of Northcote with their cameras. Asking them were they a camera club, they told me they “no; just friends with a like passion”. That had spent wandering, focusing, finding and chatting – while looking for interesting images. Just friends with cameras enjoying their companionship. Made me think of what a great tool the camera is for so many reasons.
ZOOM THE NUMBERS CLIMB ABOVE THE CLOUDS.
Another month, and more goals reached with the number of VIEWS soaring to beyond 8,000 in the last days, and the grand total has now surpassed 13,000 EVERY CHANCE OF MAKING 14!. Look at the comparisons, and you will see half the total has been this year. WOW! This month in the first few days with the publication of the first of the TESSELAAR festival featuring young Misha’s images helped swell the numbers. If that keeps up for the rest of November, we will reach 1000 plus for the month. The first time for several months. That puts on target for 9,000 for the year – and with a stretch 10,000. Remember, this is due to your photos, and people coming to focusfor, viewing them and making POST’S Of PRAISE.
And what’s more gratifying people fro all over the globe are tuning into your pics!
WELL DONE MISHA- SHE PIKz UP TWIGZ!
Misha’s name was just mentioned, but it’s also important to say in the grand scheme of things and the monthly prize challenge. She gained herself the REWARD POINTS to claim the TWIGZ KIDS TOOLS GARDEN PACKAGE. Remember, you like her have to gain 2500 RP’s before you can make the claim to reach the highest for your group. Misha, you could say had easy as she only had to pass the number to make the claim as she was the only one. But, she had to collect the POP’s, and thanks to Dad and family that’s what she did. I can see her smiling now. Thanks to all those who through their weight behind her, and made POP’s. Your names are the first to go into the TESSELAARS WIN A BUNDLE OF BULBS. Good luck!
MATTHEW ROLLS OUT HIS FIRST CAMBODIA IMAGES
On Wednesday Matthew Borys took centre stage with the first release of his collection of photos taken in Cambodia, and they too were well received with many people coming to see the first of the 4 four part series. On Monday, November 8, there will be a special article telling us in his own words about his school trip with classmates from MENTONE GRAMMAR. Cime along on the journey following his experience as seen by him through his camera. Then come back each Wednesday for another collection. You’ll enjoy it.
ONLY A WEEK TO GO FOR ROSES.
November 14 will see the end of the RESPLENDENT ROSES foto assignment in search of more images for the OITHONIA AWARD in FOCUS FORCE’S ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION at next years MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW. Make sure you add these images to your collection of submissions for the grand show. Choose carefully, looking for the perfect blooms.
With Christmas just around the corner, the excitement of the season is growing. Part of that is a behind the scenes action happening as many homes start putting hours of work in decorating their exteriors with Santa images. Now, what has become an Australian tradition attracts thousands of people to the streets, and avenues and courts where homeowners painstakingly go to great lengths and expense to put on a grand show. Last year, FOCUS FORCE ran for the first time a series featuring some of these, now in its second year in December a new collection will appear thanks to the many KIds With Cameras. We look forward to seeing what you find in your neighbourhood.

Its the annual event where we all come to a minutes silence in respect and to remember the fallen of all wars that have occurred involving Australians. No matter where you are on the day, there will be a photo op and FOCUS FORCE encourages the KWC to be ready for it. Now, with the countdown seriously happening to the CENTENARY OF GALLIPOLI next year, it is hoped to create a national collection taken on April 25, 2015.
THE JAS AWARD. First introduced 3 years ago, the award is presented to a FOCUS FORCE KWC who has shown commitment and dedication to the their tasks throughout the year. Many put in the effort, making them all worthy, but only one can take the title. It is an overall recognition taking into consideration how hard someone has worked throughout, and sometimes going that little bit further. The number of projects participated in, the number and quality of photos submitted are all reviewed. And lastly, that amount of effort of going a little bit further is important. Sometimes, in life were asked to do something more that might not seem important. But, then that’s not for us to decide!
