MIA BIGLIN ‘s collection is a surprise package that shows what a creative little mind she has. Like other HYDEN Kids With Cameras she demonstrated that the camera in her hands was an artists tool, that she is the master of. Using lots of different ideas, you will be impressed by another one of the first ever  efforts of finding and creating SUPER SHOT images for the FOCUS FORCE KWC ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION & AWARDS ’15. Give her a pat on the back by registering a POST Of PRAISE.

WOWH14MB-5. An inspired image starts the ball rolling using the railway line as a leading line and the flower to add a potent combination for a foto subject. Will this grab your attention for a POST Of PRAISE?  The flower, still a bud waiting to open is so clear and defined. A real beauty.

wowh14mb-2 WOWH14MB-2.Here again a Kid With Camera chooses a single flower against a muted background to make it stand out in  the  crowd. Mia is to be praised for depth of field making her flower the subject against the backdrop.

wowh14mb-7WOWH14MB- 7. YELLOW IMPACT is caught with this image with a well sought out backdrop. A perfectly chosen background brings out the true beauty of this wildflower. Make her glad she took it out with a POST Of PRAISE. wowh14mb-1

WOWH14MB-1 . Let’s face kit this is a tragedy! The idea was there, but not the face. Had Mia included that it this was on the road to a SUPER SHOT. Then it would have been more than worthy of a POST Of PRAISE. But it still comes highly commended. Face up to it, it’s worth a second shot!

WOWH14MB-6 Green wheatfields are the “golden crop’ of the region where Hyden is, and this image taken down low looking along the furrows makes it look more like a forest. A POST Of PRAISE could be made for this possible aspirant for the vegetable image in the ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO AWARDS ’15.

Each week throughout October you can make your CHOICE to make a POST Of PRAISE. On each Monday, the image that achieves the most POPs will be announced. Then all those that have chosen that CHOICE will go into a weekly draw. The winner for each week will go into a grand draw on November 11th. * Note; only one POP for each individual participant per email.

HOW TO POST A PRAISE; Choose the SUPER SHOT submission you like most. Go to the bottom where it says “Leave A Comment” and write your CHOICE nominating the Kids With Cameras name, and the image number in the post. Then add a few words of praise to encourage them. It’s that easy.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.

  1. Hi Mia, I thought your photo of the wildflower on the railway line WOWH14MB5 was really well composed, creative and for me conjured up an image of the beautiful colours I might see at this time of year if I travelled across from Victoria to WA. I also liked your shot of the lush green wheat fields WOWH 14MB5. You live in a beautiful part of Australia and your photos have captured some of it. Well done. Cheryl

  2. Mia I really like wowh14mb2 because I could just imagine how hard it would have been to find a single flower like you have and captured it in that way. Keep it up!
