About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.

  1. More great shots from our favourite city! I especially like the Freedom Tower reflected in the nearby building. I think you were clever to observe this and take a shot. I also like the subway sign and the angle you used in this photo. What I enjoy most about all these pics is that I get to see New York through your eyes – congratulations Madeleine – we’re very proud of your efforts. Mum

  2. hi Madeleine – you have lots of great shots. My favourites are the street sign with the flags and the subway sign pointing in. Love from your little sister Lauren.

  3. Great shots as always Madeleine. My favourite shot is that of the Guggenheim, one of my favourite places in New York. Hope to visit it again with you next time!

  4. More fantastic photos Madeleine. They are all great but my favourite is the first photo of the Freedom Tower. So tall and shiny in the sun! Love Grandma

  5. Madeleine!! WOW! My favourite so far was of the Guggenheim museum roof! I would love to visit there one day and stand under that dome. Great photos though, I like them all!!! xxx Louise

  6. Well, well ,well. Yet another great bunch of photos. My fave from these is the COCNYMD14 of the reflection of the Freedom Tower in the building.

It’s not your typical image of the Freedom Tower and I am sure that the previous Twin Towers would have reflected in this building as well. Fantastic job and I am very proud of you. Dad.

  7. Hi Madeleine,
My favourite is the Lion in front of the New York Library. I like this photo because of the angle that you chose. Emily Floro

  8. Hi Madeleine,
I particularly like the photo of the street sign “East 42nd St”. The flags in the background add that touch of colour and the angle of the street sign is quite dramatic!

  9. Madeleine
I don,t know what photo to select that I like the best but I think the effect you captured on cocmymd14 is second to none……the effect attained by the reflection of the Freedom Tower in another building was sensational…your other photos taken in New York were also great and I know that you enjoyed your time there and your presentation of the Melbourne photoes tot the consul general was such a special moment for you……..congrats on a job well done.

  10. Hi Madeleine .
My favourite photo is cocmymd14 – as soon as I saw this picture, I did reflect for a moment when I saw the image of the Freedom Tower caught in the glass of the neighbouring building.
I instantly saw just for one second, the image of the Tower inside the building.
It looks very peaceful and somehow protected. Madeleine maybe more people will see this photo as did.bloce Nan.

  11. Hi Madeleine, amazing photos once again! I would have to say that my favourite would have to be the reflection of the Freedom Tower captured in the neighbouring building. I also love the street signs with the flag. Well done!
