During the second visit to Queensland gave FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras project coordinator got to go to the city on top of the Great Dividing Range. While there local youngster. Lily got in front of the camera, and was happy to pose with hers amongst the brilliant blooms on show for the throngs of visitors on the first day of the event.
A tender 4 years old, she was preparing to grow another year a few days later when she celebrated her fifth birthday. She was only to eager to smile for the camera, and FOCUS FORCE bets there were even more, and bigger ones a few days later. We wonder if she managed to find any Super Shots amongst the flowers. FOCUS FORCE wishes the Kids With A Camera a belated birthday and hopes she had a great day. We’re sure she did!
A VIEWPOINT FOUND in the Laurel Bank gardens where so many flowers had been patiently and perfectly planted for the visitors to admire. FOCUS FORCE was on a mission to find locations where hopefully the discs will be planted in time for next years carnival, and then inspire local and other Kids With Cameras to go looking for SUPER SHOTS. Those who know Laurel bank will know the place where this VIEW POINT was located. Schools will be invited to lead up workshops prior to next years event. SUPER SHOTS will be chosen and the best included in the next FOCUS FORCE ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION at the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW. As a practice run a Toowoomba school has been invited to place a VIEWPOINT amongst its garden beds and the Kids With Cameras show us their best shots to be included in the 2015 exhibition. Wonder which school? Take a closer look at the name for a hint!

||Tulips have been the flower of fables for hundreds of years. In old England, the fairies were said to rock their babes to sleep, safe in the Tulips petals until morn, when they would open and awaken in the sun. In Persian tales, the first Tulips sprung from the blood of star crossed lovers, Farhad and Shirin, who were similar to our more familiar Romeo and Juliet. The Queen of Fairies herself dresses in the brilliant petals of Tulip flowers. The colour and allure of Tulips has bewitched Sultans and Kings, inspired artists and enchanted nations. Now you have the opportunity to create your own fairy tale in the Tulips.v

And another thanks to HARVEY NORMAN (QV) Melbourne and the many others who continue to support the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras.
Just like Cinderella losing her celebrity status, Madeliene is back in school ,and improving after a frantic time in the United States and NEW YORK. Unperturbed by a stint in hospital, she was bursting at the reins wanting to get on with her trip, and all the things the family had planned to do. Nothing was going to stop her, and this part of her journey.
To deliver the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP BOOK” Melbourne City Of Contrasts”,she had two destinations. The first being the Australian Consulate where she was met by the Deputy Consul General Natalie Roche. She offered the book as a gift of friendship and goodwill and then asked the Deputy Consul General of doing the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras of Hyden School in West Australia the honor of making her CHOICE from the 3 images of WAVE ROCK she also had with her . You can see the CHOICE below, and what impressed the DCG. The next stop was the School Of The Blessed Sacrament in New York city, not far from Broadway and Central Park. Here the procedure was the same with Madeleine offering the book to the Assistant Principal, the school and the students.
TWO WEEKS ago today, Friday Sept. FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP AMBASSADOR Madeleine Puli fulfilled her obligation to deliver the FFKWC FRIENDSHIP BOOK –
I found it very interesting to see the School of the Blessed Sacrament and how it looked on the inside because when I was walking down the street towards it I had no idea it was a school. It blended in with all the other buildings around it. We met the Assistant Principal Caroline Sliney and I was able to take her through the photo book to explain what things were and how they compared with similar places in New York. I told her that my primary school was quite different from hers as we have lots of wide open space and big offices and classrooms. It was amazing to see a school on the other side of the world.
The image taken by Amberleigh Hendry of Hyden in Western Australia was the CHOICE of Deputy Consul General Natalie Roche at the Australian Consulate in New York. It, along with the other 3 selections will be displayed in the foyer of the consulate for a period of time. Just like an image of the Rock taken in 1964, and took out the grand award at the New York Photographic Fair.
Amberleigh is a year 7 student at the school and took part in the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras foto workshop program only 4 weeks prior to the presenetation.
Australian Deputy Consular General Natalie Roche was impressed by the photographs of Wave Rock and the efforts of the WA Focus Force Kids with Cameras.
She particularly noticed the lighting captured in the photographs and said they would be placed on display in the foyer of the Australian Consular General’s Office in New York along with the City of Contrasts album by the Melbourne Focus Force photographers.
The photos of Wave Rock were also presented to Assistant Principal Caroline Silmey at the School of the Blessed Sacrament in New York City. We told Caroline a little bit about Wave Rock, where it was in Australia and gave her an idea of it’s size. She too commented on the quality of the photographs and we suggested it was another great reason for her to visit Australia one day! She said she would show the images and those in the City of Contrasts album to the staff and students of the school and encourage any budding photographers to submit photos of their iconic city to Focus Force. Report by Cheryl Kohek (Mother of Madeliene)
FOCUS FORCE KWC FRIENDSHIP AMBASSADOR takes time out to pose for a cheesy grin photo in the entrance to the Australian Consulate in New York. This is sure to a cherished reminder along with others taken with the Deputy Consul General on this auspicious visit for the young girl.
“Visiting the Australian Consular General in New York to present the Focus Force Melbourne City of Contrasts photo book was an honour. The Deputy Consular General Natalie Roche and her assistant Kathryn made us feel very much at home with their Aussie accents and Tim Tams! And they thought the book was great too!
And another thanks to HARVEY NORMAN (QV) Melbourne, Fountain Gate, Albury, Watergardens, Bendigo, Frankston, Hamilton, Werribee and City West in Perth for providing FREE PRINTS to the FF KWC for their success.
