In New York, and the US it is Thursday August 28 – one day behind Australia. For Madeleine Puli and her family, it doesn’t matter what the date is. For her as FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP AMBASSADOR she has two important appointments to keep. First it will be the SCHOOL of the BLESSED SACRAMENT where she will meet and discuss her viti to the city with the Principal, deputy and teachers. This will include presenting the Principal and school with a letter from her Principal Denise Mugavin of St. Augustine’s in Keilor, Melbourne inviting the school to send a reciprocal FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITION to Australia with photos taken of the city by the students there. Then she will present the school with the book of SUPER SHOTS selected for the MELBOURNE – CITY of CONTRASTS foto project. Later in the day she then have the thrill of visiting the Australian Consulate where she will formally meet the Australian Deputy Consul General, Natalie Roche and present her with a copy of the book. The book contains the Super Shot works Of Madeleine, Jourdan Kotevski, Matthew Bory and Neave Leyden.
For MADELEINE it has been a traumatic time for her in New York having spend several days in hospital after having her appendix removed. It would have been a harrowing time for the whole family, but now she is out and back on track to complete the last of her days there. Today, she will also top it off by a visit to the Australian Consulate where she will formally meet the Australian Consul General; the Hon Nick Minchin. She will also present a copy of the book to him, and then oversee his CHOICE of the 3 SUPER SHOTS of West Australia’s Wave Rock. The images taken 3 weeks ago commemorate another image in 1964 taking out the grand prize at the New York Photographic Fair – 50 years ago this year. These were taken by Hyden PS students; Benjamin Cosh, Ingrid Tipton and Amberleigh Hendry.
And another thanks to HARVEY NORMAN (QV) Melbourne, and City West in Perth for providing FREE PRINTS to the FF KWC for their success.
