CATRIONA GOES FOR A COLLECTION OF DAHLIA DELIGHTS FOR HER ROCKLEY COLLECTION SELECTION ’15

Standard

THE FIRST COLLECTION FEATURING WORKS FROM OUTSIDE THE GARDEN SHOW, FEATURES THIS SMALL BUT CREATIVE PACKAGE BY CATRIONA OF PORTLAND.

CATRIONA became involved in the FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras program after being introduced through her school in Portland. (Vic). The grade 6 student registered to be part of the FOCUS FORCE FLASH OF FRIENDSHIP to the MS EUROPA and took part in the history making event earlier this year. Then, she accepted a further invitation to submit photos for assessment, and submission for the 2015 ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION & AWARDS. Here you see how  she used her imagination to create some potential SUPER SHOTS to appear at the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW in March next year. I’m sure we will see more from her throughout the year as she expands her portfolio and again make her feel good with a POST OF PRAISE to add to her delights.

How’s this for a prop shot?(15SBM241) Incorporating a camera to frame” her flowers makes a sure shot possible as a SUPER SHOT sensation aiming for the IMAGINE AWARD. These are the type of ideas that fill the viewers with the WOW FACTOR, and stop them with the wonder. How did they do that? I wonder!

WHAT A BEAUTY , this image of the dahlia is a cert to be seen at the cert; if the judges have any taste.(15SBM240) The close up image will be registered in the FLEUR category, and like always its soft hues should draw a host of POSTS OF PRAISE for the young enthusiast.

This image showing  it’s dark side provides a contrast to it’s lighter heart. It’s a lesson on using light to it’s and your advantage.(15SBM245) A single flower and it stands in line for the chance to take out the RECASU AWARD.   How making a comment to add to her POSTS OF PRAISES and boost her REWARD POINTS.

Another “framing good idea” shows how to use your imagination to come up with something different.(15SBM242) That’s what it’s all about, and see here what photogahers often do to get an idea how the image will look inside a photograph border, or frame. Could we say; a frame looking for fame! Category pending.

I know you all wish her luck and wait in anticipation, just like her.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.

  1. Catriona Alexander (15SBM242) Love the way you have framed the shot with your fingers. It transports me from my computer chair to the garden so I feel as if it’s me there framing the shot. Well done Catriona, you never cease to amaze me 🙂
