MADELEINE SERVES UP A TRIPLE TREAT FOR THIS WEEKS ROCKLEY SUBMISSIONS.

Standard

ANOTHER FROM A FIRST TIMER SHOWS WHAT SHE’S MADE OF WHEN IT COMES TO A CAMERA IN HER HAND WITH THIS MINI COLLECTION. ONLY 11 YEARS OLD AND NEVER SUBMITTED PHOTOS FOR A COMPETITION BEFORE SHE INVITES YOU TO TAKE A BROWSE OVER HER SUBMISSIONS. And of course she would be only too happy to see your POSTS OF PRAISE.

Madeleine is a grade 6 student  in Taylors Lakes, and of course like all Kids With Cameras loves to take photos. But, when she got to the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW, and loooked at the FOCUS FORCE ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION she was inspired to take a  NEW DIRECTION in all her phototaking tasks. We hope that will see more of her work throughout the year, and she can watch her REWARD POINTS grow too.

STRIKING RED  (RGS15MP1) is what you might call this, and FOCUS FORCE has entered this in the  FLEUR AWARD category for the best close up.  All you can say is the colour hits you in the eye and provides a grand catcher for the inner parts of the flower. Once again, the background is soft and out of focus  so as not to distract from the  focal image.

rgs15sbm224MP2

How many times does FOCUS FORCE see the trunk of a tree  (RGS15MP2)  reaching into the sky emphasizing its rightful place in the Carlton Gardens. Each year painstaking effort is put into protecting these majestic old trees that are part of the gardens heritage . Here Madeleine preserves the tree for posterity with the camera. Again, we see how the camera goes from being out of focus to becoming sharper as it moves up the tree. Notice how the detail becomes finer as it moves further away from the lens.

rgssbm225MP3

A white daisy( (RGS15MP3) ) caught Madeleine’s eye and she got it front and centre making a simple but attractive image. The background muted out of focus places more emphasis on the flower eliminating all the distractions from her photo. Simply, the flower is her focus and subject and a pure choice for the RECUSU category.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD A COMMENT ABOUT MADDY’S SUPER SHOT SUBMISSIONS or just POST A PRAISE to make her day? Whichever, you are welcome to do it here by entering in the comments section below, and send it direct to FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras. For each POST Of PRAISE made before 5.00 PM Monday Madeleine will earn 50 reward points. Also if you would like to know more about the program, and perhaps register a Kids With Camera child, you are welcome to use it for that too.

HOW TO POST A PRAISE; Choose the SUPER SHOT submission you like most. POST A PRAISE nominating the Kids With Cameras name, and the image number in the post. Then add a few words of praise to encourage them. It’s that easy.

  1. I love the 3 photos, but the tree (RGS15MP2) is so magical it is like being right under it a very peaceful photo.

    • Wow these photos are amazing! The tree (RGS15MP2) gives a whole new meaning when we call a tree majestic – you really captured that with this angle Madeleine. I also would have to ask, how long it took you to find the two flowers (RGS15MP3) and (RGS15MP1) which do not have one blemish on them. They are perfect. If you can take photos as good as these at 11 years of age, a future in photography could be well within your reach. Keep up the good work and enjoy the beauty of nature in the process.

      • Thank you Doris, inspiring words for the young girl. She will thank you for the 50.

  2. Also wanted to say that when Madeleine took the tree photo we were enjoying morning tea under it’s canopy and this picture captures how majestic it was.

  3. Well done Madeleine – my favourite is the tree photo (RGS15MP2). I like this as it also plays on perspective and if you stare at it long enough it looks like the tree is lying down.
