QUEENSLAND’S ROCKHAMPTON GARDENS PROVIDE “TREE-MENDOUS” FOTO OPS & FUN WITH THE CAMERA.

 WOW – WHAT A PLACE! Recently, FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras Project Coordinator Phillip Williams, traveled from Queensland’s tropical north starting at Cairns all the way south to Coolangatta. Throughout the journey,  his simple camera worked over time looking for SUPER SHOTS. Throughout November, you will see images from the trip to inspire local  ids With Cameras.

QUEENSLAND KIDS ARE INVITED TO REGISTER TO DO THEIR OWN FOTO SHOOT IN YOUR LOCAL BOTANICAL GARDENS.

DSCN0442Every Sunday throughout November, a new article will be published featuring images from the iconic botanical gardens of; Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton and Brisbane complete with a special invitation to the local Kids With Cameras.The two images selected here were taken at the Rockhampton Botanical Gardens. Not only famous for magnificent gardens and flowers, but also it’s zoo. The top one combines words with the photo tribute to the trees of the north, and illustrates the combination giving it a defining meaning to the observer .

C’MON QUEENSLAND Kids With CAMERAS GIVE US YOUR BEST SHOTS. We’re hoping that what you see will be inspiring, and accept the challenge to get out into the gardens yourselves. Read and study the info, and then head out with your own camera to show us you can do better!

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings,and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes.The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
