FOCUS FORCE MAKES NEW FRIENDS IN TASMANIA TO BRING THE KIDS WITH CAMERAS OF NEW NORFOLK INTO THE PICTURE!

Standard

A new bunch of FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras is to about to be let loose in Hobart, along  the banks of the Derwent, and on the gentle rolling slopes of the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens as they look for their first SUPER SHOTS for the ROCKLEY FLOWER FOTO EXHIBITION & AWARDS at the 2013 MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN SHOW. This has all come about by FF KWC forming links with a number of supporters led by the help of New Norfolk high school principal, Malcolm Elliot. He introduced the program to the RAFT ((Real Action Forward Thinking) forum, and to MISSION AUSTRALIA’s Jenny Reynolds. The project will run with the assistance of help from MISSION AUSTRALIA’S YOUTH CONNECTIONS team members.

This will be the first workshop program to be run in Tasmania since Sorell Public school in 2009, and the first in New Norfolk and Hobart.

As a result; a two day program will take place at New Norfolk in the first week of the September holidays. Two workshop programs, each with a maximum of 10 participants, will be run with the culmintation being a FOCUS FORCE Kids With Cameras FOTO SHOOT at the ROYAL TASMANIAN BOTANICAL GARDENS on the morning of September 13th.                                         ADDITONAL WORKSHOPS  WILL ALSO BE RUN SHOULD THERE BE ENOUGH INTEREST. The word has gone out and the program will be extended in both Hobart, Port Arthur and Launceston if enough kids with cameras put their hands up! Anticipated dates being on the Wednesday and Friday of the first week of the holidays, and the second week for PA or Launceston.

The FOCUS FORCE Kids WithCameras will be hangin’ out with

so they can get into the mood with a special  “product shoot” using these Australian designed gardening tools for eager junior planters.  Watch for their SUPER SHOTS on the site, and on show in Hobart. And we hope more exciting news about Twigz events.

About focusfor

The FOCUS FORCE photographic workshop program for Kids With Cameras is based in Melbourne, Australia. The projects have gone beyond the Victorian borders, into New South Wales, and Tasmania.Through others including a backpacker it has been provided to children in Thailand, and a teacher in Portugal has inspired children there as well. Apart, from the fun of learning about the camera and developing the skill of taking better photos; the best of which are raised to the status of SUPER SHOTS,the works have been mounted as collections under the banner of the FOCUS FORCE FRIENDSHIP EXHIBITIONS, and sent as gifts of friendship and goodwill to the United States, Italy, Japan, China - others are still being worked on. The program enrciches the children's knowledge, and as a side benefit makes them more aware of their own surroundings, and all that is to value where they live. Then comes the delight of being achievers, and having their self esteem boosted by their successes. The term "kids with cameras" was first used by the program's forerunner; CLICKER - the "club for kids with cameras", and dates back to the mid 1980's. The name change came about as wanting to be more appropriate to the older student group that the program now works with.
